Can you look back at your life and see how God has already been at work in you? Can you imagine what it will look like to look more and more like Jesus?

The fruit of the Spirit is not some checklist that we can beat ourselves up with. It is the fruit He grows in us as He transforms us. But in each of those fruits, there is a decision to make and an action for us to do, with Holy Spirit’s help.

Your role in transformation is renewing your mind.

R - Recogize the voice of the enemy

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10

Our Role

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

E- Engage God’s voice

Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. John 6:68

Our Role

My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Psalm 27:8

S - Stand in His truth

His Acceptance

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Romans 5:1
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1

Our Role

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

T - Think God’s Thoughts

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Colossians 3:1-2

Our Role

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8

Repeat steps 1-4 daily.

Challenge

Do you know you need to change how you feel? Are your feelings lining up with the word of God? This is just the start of the process, but it’s an important step along the way. Use the tool to daily to help you change how you feel.
